Who We Are: 

We are Iranians, members of the Iranian diaspora, journalists, human rights advocates, and concerned citizens who refuse to see state violence laundered through irresponsible reporting.

First—Our Thanks
We recognize and thank journalists who report on Iran with integrity: those who challenge official lies, center victims, and refuse to sanitize state violence. Ethical journalism matters—especially under repression.

Why This Must Be Said
In January 2026, the Islamic Republic of Iran killed over 12,000 protesters in just 72 hours and enforced a nationwide internet blackout to conceal the massacre.

While Iranians inside the country were silenced by bullets and prisons, some Western media amplified voices that echoed or softened regime narratives—often without context, scrutiny, or challenge.

One Example—Not the Only One

This language mirrors state propaganda and criminalizes civilians demanding freedom.

The Islamic Republic actively exports tailored narratives through individuals living safely outside Iran—adjusted to Western political sensitivities. These narratives are strategic, not neutral.

Our Demand: Responsible Reporting Is Not Optional
We demand that U.S. and European media immediately uphold their ethical and professional obligations by:

• Applying rigorous skepticism to regime-aligned and state-adjacent voices
• Disclosing political affiliations, conflicts of interest, and context in full
• Centering those at risk inside Iran, not individuals speaking safely from abroad
• Treating documented human rights violations as established facts, not as “both-sides” debates
• Journalism must look to the streets—not just the studio.
  It must amplify victims—not replace them.

Be accountable. Be accurate. Be the VOICE.

ما ایرانیان، اعضای دیاسپورای ایرانی، روزنامه‌نگاران، مدافعان حقوق بشر و شهروندان دغدغه‌مند هستیم که حاضر نیستیم خشونت دولتی از طریق گزارش‌گری غیرمسئولانه تطهیر یا عادی‌سازی شود.

ابتدا—قدردانی ما
ما از روزنامه‌نگارانی که با صداقت و شرافت درباره ایران گزارش می‌دهند قدردانی می‌کنیم؛ کسانی که دروغ‌های رسمی را به چالش می‌کشند، صدای قربانیان را در مرکز قرار می‌دهند و از سفیدشویی خشونت دولتی خودداری می‌کنند. روزنامه‌نگاری اخلاق‌مدار اهمیت حیاتی دارد—به‌ویژه در شرایط سرکوب.

چرا گفتن این سخن ضروری است
در ژانویه ۲۰۲۶، جمهوری اسلامی ایران در عرض تنها ۷۲ ساعت بیش از ۱۲٬۰۰۰ معترض را کشت و هم‌زمان با اعمال قطع سراسری اینترنت، تلاش کرد این کشتار را پنهان کند.

در حالی که ایرانیان داخل کشور با گلوله و زندان خاموش می‌شدند، برخی رسانه‌های غربی صداهایی را تقویت کردند که بازتاب‌دهنده یا نرم‌کننده روایت‌های رژیم بودند—اغلب بدون زمینه، بدون راستی‌آزمایی، و بدون به چالش کشیدن.

یک نمونه—نه تنها نمونه
در ۱۳ ژانویه ۲۰۲۶، یک شبکه آمریکایی مصاحبه‌ای پخش کرد که در آن معترضان ایرانی «تروریست» و عامل «تخریب» توصیف شدند.

این زبان، بازتولید مستقیم تبلیغات حکومتی است و شهروندانی را که برای آزادی مطالبه‌گری می‌کنند، مجرم‌سازی می‌کند.

جمهوری اسلامی به‌طور فعال روایت‌های هدفمند خود را از طریق افرادی که در خارج از ایران و در امنیت زندگی می‌کنند صادر می‌کند—روایت‌هایی که متناسب با حساسیت‌های سیاسی غرب تنظیم شده‌اند. این روایت‌ها راهبردی‌اند، نه بی‌طرف.

مطالبه ما: گزارش‌گری مسئولانه اختیاری نیست
ما از رسانه‌های آمریکا و اروپا می‌خواهیم فوراً به تعهدات اخلاقی و حرفه‌ای خود پایبند باشند و:

با صداهای همسو یا نزدیک به رژیم با شک‌گرایی جدی برخورد کنند؛
وابستگی‌های سیاسی، تعارض منافع و زمینه‌ها را به‌طور کامل افشا کنند؛
کسانی را که در داخل ایران در معرض خطرند در مرکز قرار دهند، نه افرادی را که در خارج و در امنیت سخن می‌گویند؛
نقض‌های مستند حقوق بشر را به‌عنوان واقعیت‌های ثابت گزارش کنند، نه موضوع «دو سویه‌سازی» و توازن کاذب.

روزنامه‌نگاری باید به خیابان نگاه کند—نه فقط به استودیو.
باید صدای قربانیان را تقویت کند—نه جایگزین آن‌ها شود.

پاسخ‌گو باشید. دقیق باشید. صدای مردم باشید.
