Stop Proposal for Cleveland City Employee gym to be moved to Cleveland Community Center

The Issue

I am a member of the Cleveland Community, where we value the wellbeing of our citizens, especially our children. The city council's proposal to relocate the city employee weight room/gym threatens this valuable and cherished aspect of our community. The proposed new location for the gym is the same space where the cherished Cleveland Community Center currently runs a much-needed child care program.

This is not just about gym space. It's about the welfare and future of our children and the community. This childcare program has been instrumental to hundreds of families in the area, providing safe and reliable care for our children while we work. Should the gym be relocated to this space, this vital childcare resource would be endangered, affecting hundreds of parents who rely on its service each day.

While we understand the need for city employees to have access to fitness facilities, we strongly believe there are other viable scenarios for its location that would not impact the already limited resources dedicated to our community's childcare. We urge the city council to rethink their approach and prioritize community services that directly impact the well-being and future of our children.

Please sign the petition and help us protect our children's access to quality, safe, and reliable childcare.
