Palm Beach County is proposing charging youth sports groups $5/hour, per field used, starting Oct/2025. This increase is being voted on May 20th. This fee increase will limit access to vital recreational spaces for our kids' physical and mental well-being. For many families, these fields are a safe haven. Shouldn't all children have access to outdoor play without financial barriers? It's paradoxical that with high taxes and increasing RE Ad Valorem Taxes, our parks need more money while their condition declines. Let's urge the Commissioners to cancel these fees and instead invest in improving our parks and the lives of the kids in our community.
