Stop Online Predation: Den'Nicia Rowe's Story Must Inspire Change. #Safeguard Lives
The Issue
To: Mr Josh Harder & Mrs. Rhodesia Ransom
We, the undersigned, call upon you to take immediate legislative action to address the growing threat of online predation and ensure justice for the victims and their traumatized family members.
Introduction:
Den'Nicia Rowe was a vibrant young woman whose life was tragically cute short due to the heinous actions of an online predator. Her story is a stark reminder of the dangers that lurk in the digital world, where unsuspecting individuals are lured into situation that can lead to unspeakable violence and loss of life. We must honor Den'Nicia's memory by enacting stronger laws to prevent future predatory behavior and punish perpetrators to the fullest extent.
The Problem:
In todays' interconnected world, online interactions have become commonplace. While most are harmless, there exists a dark side where predators exploit innocent individuals. The catastrophic consequences of these encounters can lead to tragic out comes like that of my daughter Den'Nicia.
Online Interactions:
1. Lack of Defined Legal Protections: Many jurisdictions lack specific laws that classify online predation and it's consequences, leaving victims without adequate legal recourse.
2. Under-Penalization of Crimes: When a victim is lured to their death by an online predator, these crimes are often not treated with the gravity they deserve, leading to inadequate sentences and insufficient deterrence.
Our Proposal:
To protect potential victims and ensure justice for those who tragically lose their lives as a result of online predation, we propose the following measures be enacted into law.
- Establish online predation as a Hate Crime: any individual found guilty of luring another person online with the intent to cause physical harm or death should be charged with a hate crime. This classification acknowledges the malicious intent and the targeting of vulnerable individuals.
2. Mandatory life Sentence in Solitary Confinement: Individuals convicted of murder stemming from online predation should receive an automatic life sentence in solitary confinement without the possibility of parole. This punishment reflects the severity of the crime and serves as a powerful deterrent to potential predators.
Conclusion:
Den'Nicia Rowe's story must serve as a catalyst for change. We have the power to protect future generations by implementing these crucial legal reforms. Let us unite to end online predation and ensure that justice is served for victims like Den'Nicia.
Please sign this petition to demand that lawmakers prioritize the protection of vulnerable individuals in the online space and enact laws that reflect the seriousness of these crimes. Together, we can make a difference and honor Den'Nicia's precious life that was unjustly taken.
