Stop Limmer Holdings's Wastewater Plant - Say NO and SAVE SIENA, PART II
Stop Limmer Holdings's Wastewater Plant - Say NO and SAVE SIENA, PART II
The Issue
This Petition is for the second of THREE permits for package water treatment plants in our area that were submitted to the TCEQ.
The first was “SAVE SIENA,” which addressed a plant in the middle of the Siena Neighborhood at Etna Way. This second proposed permit is for a different plant (by a different developer) just to the East of the Siena Neighborhood and next to Kerley Elementary, Gus Almquist Middle School, and the future location of another Hutto High School.

We urgently request your support. Please SAY NO to permitting a proposed wastewater treatment plant by Limmer Holdings, LLC (Permit No. WQ0016462001). The proposed site is perilously close to our community's schools. This facility's location, directly downwind and downstream from where our children at Kerley Elementary and Gus Almquist Middle School learn and play, poses serious health and environmental risks that cannot be ignored.
Health Risks to Our Children:
The proposed wastewater plant's proximity to our schools is deeply troubling. Research indicates significant health hazards linked to living near wastewater treatment facilities, such as increased respiratory conditions and adverse birth outcomes. By being downwind and downstream, our schools and, more importantly, our children will be directly in harm's way, facing these unacceptable daily risks.
Environmental Concerns:
The planned site near the BCWCID Site 18 Reservoir amplifies our concerns, with the potential for grave environmental repercussions that could compromise the reservoir's ecosystem and negatively affect local property values. The strong opposition from landowners in our community underscores the urgency of this matter.
There is a Safer Alternative:
We support the proposed alternative by concerned landowners, advocating for constructing a wastewater conveyance pipeline to the existing Hutto Sewage Treatment Plant. This solution addresses health and environmental concerns and aligns with the community's economic interests.
Your support in opposing this permit is vital for the health and safety of our children and the preservation of our environment. Together, we can advocate for our community's safer, healthier future.
Thank you for your immediate attention and action on this urgent matter. Your leadership and support make a difference.
