Stop Hull City Council using PIP as an income towards Adult Care Services!
The Issue
SEN adults from age 18 are being charged for adult care services.
Hull City council class PIP as an income for the young person , and then charge a contribution for any adult care services from this benefit they recieve!
The minimum is £85 per week out of the SEN adults income
This is not discussed properly with parents when the young person is transitioning to adulthood , no service gives you the amounts or prepares you that this will happen.
Hull City Council take high rate care element of PIP amount of the disabled person and LCWRA as an income , there is no negotiation.
PIP always has been a benefit to help a disabled person to live!
It should not be considered as an income towards adult care services , that are needed for disabled people to access an everyday life.
