The Issue

From midday on Friday, September 19, 2025, to approximately 8:00 PM on Sunday, September 21, 2025, our community endured continuous, amplified "doof doof" music with heavy bass and live broadcasting from a 3 day "event" at the public basketball court opposite Mon Komo on the Redcliffe foreshore.

This noise was so intrusive that it penetrated our dwellings  despite closed doors, windows, and curtains, significantly disrupting our ability to rest, work, or enjoy our living spaces throughout the weekend.

This level of noise appears to contravene the noise regulations outlined in the Environmental Protection Act 1994 and the City of Moreton Bays Subordinate Local Law No. 3. Such disturbances undermine the peaceful amenity of our residential area, which is a critical aspect of our quality of life.

Our Requests
We respectfully request that Moreton Bay Regional Council:

  1. Investigate the event that occurred between 19 - 21 September, 2025, to determine if it complied with noise regulations and permit conditions.
  2. Provide written confirmation that this was a one-off event and that no similar amplified
activities will be permitted in the future without strict noise controls.
  3. Implement measures to prevent recurrence, such as noise monitoring, restrictions on amplified sound, or enhanced  permit oversight for events at the basketball court adjacent to the Redcliffe Surf Life Saving Club.
