The Issue

In the wake of an executive order ending all DEI measures, government websites have begun erasing pages that honor Black, female, and other minority military service members.

This shameful act erases history and dishonors those who gave their lives for our country.

One targeted page was a Department of Defense tribute to Lt. Col. Charles Calvin Rogers, an American war hero and Medal of Honor recipient.

Thankfully, our voices helped right this wrong, and his page has been restored to the website. However, the erasure of history continues elsewhere:

Important stories of Black, Hispanic, and female veterans are disappearing from the Arlington National Cemetery's website, silencing the legacies of trailblazers like Gen. Colin Powell, the Tuskegee Airmen, and WWII hero Hector Santa Anna.

Pages honoring their contributions — along with entire sections on African American, Hispanic American, and Women's History — have vanished. While some content still exists, it's buried, forcing visitors to dig for the history that once stood proudly. These heroes fought for our country; their stories deserve to be seen, not hidden.

In their attempt to erase DEI practices, these websites have actually just destroyed important and honorable military history. Without these brave individuals, our country would not be what it is today. We will not stand for this disgrace.

We demand these webpages and historical records be restored immediately. Stand with American veterans and war heroes — sign and share the petition to help right this wrong.
