Mrs Elkington asked us to rent her property we  

considered it but as no power or water  

connected and no valuation report for rates  

available after 4 months I made a business  

decision not to

proceed she had lost nothing as couldn’t rent  

to anyone with no services anyway!.I received  

demand 2 years ago for bid and a court letter

 for bid and rates this was quashed after bid  

investigated . Then a few months ago a court  

summons again for rates we spoke to owner  

said she won’t pay it and is trying to get me to pay as her  

husbands estate not sorted !!!  ELDC have been

 awful and only agreed to adjourn on the Friday

 before the court date on the Monday as  

my accountant emailed to advise never rented

 or traded enclosing photos at time being  
 
summoned  for windows blacked out etc there

 was no agreement or lease I did not enter the

 

premises as no point until services and power

  connected. I paid a deposit and did not ask for  

it back despite it not my fault the business  

could not be rented as she was claiming  

hardship after death of husband . She rented  

the outside space to my son to trade nov and  

dec Xmas trees as he had a shop adjacent that  

she owned and is claiming it was me that rented

 the shop to try and wriggle out of paying her  

rates !!MY SON HAS THE RECEIPT IN HIS  
 
NAME FOR  THE TREES !!! No one has even  

checked this with my son !!  This has caused  

me extreme distress and  

anxiety made worse as ELDC refused me a  

meeting and the arrogant chief executive  Mr  

Barlow refused to speak to me despite his PA  

saying she would arrange a meeting !  

How would he like me to treat him as a second  

class citizen ? The truth is I would treat him or  

anyone else fairly !!!! Unfortunately ELDC are  

renowned for such behaviour . So once again I  

cannot work on the 2nd court date just before  

Xmas and taxpayers money will be spent  

where’s a meeting I’m sure would have sorted  

this ridiculous issue for free . HELP ME MAKE  

MR BARLOW LISTEN AND STOP

 THIS LUDICROUS ACTION ASKING HIMSELF WOULD I OR MY FAMILY LIKE TO BE TREATED  THIS WAY ???
