The Issue

Dexcom has announced that on July 1st 2026, they will be discontinuing the G6 continuous glucose monitor. Dexcom is pushing users towards the newer G7 model, which can be very damaging to millions of diabetics. Thousands of users have raised concerns about the G7 being the only option from Dexcom. Reports from patients and caregivers describe accuracy issues, connectivity problems, and alarms not triggering as expected. These concerns are serious; some families have shared stories of dangerous glucose events they believe were linked to device malfunctions. There have also been publicly discussed complaints and legal actions alleging that the transition to the G7 has not been as safe or reliable as it should be. Regardless of the outcomes of those cases, the volume of concern highlights a system that many users do not yet trust with their lives.

The G6 has been a reliable and beloved CGM among the diabetic community. By discontinuing the G6, diabetics are forced to use technology that puts a burden on their physical and mental well-being.

We are calling on Dexcom to:

  • Continue supporting and manufacturing the G6 beyond July 2026
  • Allow patients and healthcare professionals to choose the CGM that works best for them
  • Address the community’s safety concerns before forcing any transition

People with diabetes deserve reliability, safety, and choice. Help us urge Dexcom to do what’s right and keep the G6 available.
