The Issue

Health Leaders Ask Obama for Strong Climate treaty to Protect Public Health     :)

 

 

 

 

Health Care Without Harm, Practice Greenhealth, the American Public Health Association, the American Nurses Association, Physicians for Social Responsibility and a number of hospitals and major US health care systems have sent a letter to President Obama asking for a strong climate treaty in Copenhagen to protect public health.  Scientists warn of health problems ranging from drought and famine to increased vector-borne illness,  war and social upheaval due to rapid changes In the environment.

 

As climate talks near, the role of the US appears critical to establishing a binding treaty.  I would be happy to discuss this further or to arrange any interviews.  Best--Eileen
