Airlines should not punish people for traveling alone.

A recent investigation by Thrifty Traveler revealed that major airlines, including American Airlines, were charging higher fares to passengers booking a single ticket compared to those booking in pairs. This pricing tactic, though not widespread yet, is unfair, discriminatory, and deeply troubling.

It makes no sense that a person traveling alone should have to pay more just because they aren’t part of a group. Travel should be accessible to everyone, no matter how many people are in your booking.

Following public pressure, Delta and United dropped this pricing practice. But American Airlines continues to quietly profit from it on some routes.

We demand American Airlines immediately end this discriminatory pricing and commit to fair, transparent fares for all travelers—whether alone or in a group.
