We, the people of Alabama, express our unwavering support for the Prattville Public Library's commitment to providing diverse and inclusive literature for young adults. We believe that access to a wide range of books, including those that address LGBTQ topics and age-appropriate sexual education, is essential for the intellectual and emotional development of young readers.

It has come to our attention that certain groups, including Moms of Liberty, are attempting to influence library policies and censor books that they deem objectionable based on their personal beliefs. We strongly oppose any efforts to restrict access to literature and impose religious bigotry on our public spaces.

"Hiding books deemed controversial only masks the sentiments they represent; eliminating them does not eradicate the ideas or issues they address."

We affirm that the selection of books at Prattville Public Library has been carefully curated by professionals who adhere to established guidelines for age-appropriate content. These books have been vetted by authors, publishers, and librarians to ensure their educational value and relevance to the lives of young adults.

We urge the leadership of Prattville Public Library to overturn any decisions that restrict or remove access to books that have been previously deemed appropriate for young adults. We believe in upholding the principles of intellectual freedom, diversity, and inclusivity in our community's public spaces.
