Please sign this petition to stop Aberdeen City Council causing traffic grinding to a halt in the city. 

ACC’s ridiculous plan include, 

1. Changing Guild Street to a bus gate between Wapping Street (Sainsbury’s), and Market Street. 
2. Bus gate reinstated on Union Street from The Adelphi and also extended down Market Street to Hadden Street. 
3. Many roads changing to Local Access Only- Bridge Street, from Wapping Street junction to Union St, Windmill Brae, King Street from The Arts Centre to Castle Street/ Union Street, Marischal Street, Shiprow, and every road surrounding The Green, between Union Street, Market Street, Guild Street and Bridge Street including Trinity St, Exchange St, Hadden St, Carmelite Street. 
4. No right turn from Union Terrace onto Rosemount Viaduct. 

Aberdeen can’t have a circular ring road because we have one of the biggest and busiest harbours in the country, right in the middle of the city. We now have the bypass, the AWPR, which has taken away a huge amount of through traffic. 

No one uses these streets unless they are trying to access the shopping centres in town or it’s the shortest, quickest option.  All these new measures will do is force unnecessary traffic to surrounding areas, ie, Virginia St, Market St, Rosemount, West End, Holburn, Ferryhill and Riverside Drive. 

It beggars belief these changes are being implemented when the council says it wants to attract a greater footfall in the city centre, this will have the opposite effect.
