We, the homeowners, petition D.R. Horton to repair and pave the failed roadways in the "Grande of Shannon Cove" known as Shannon Boulevard.  We believe the roads that are failing were partially installed in or around the year 2008.  Currently, the Grande of Shannon Cove has a single entrance road into the development known as Shannon Boulevard.  This road was partially installed without the topcoat.  The partial installation has caused about a mile stretch of the road to fail.  The failed roadway is littered with potholes and uneven pavement.  All of the dangers of failing roadways can negatively impact those who use them.  We suggest Shannon Boulevard receive proper repairs and paving to make it safe for residents and friends to travel.  

A note sent to Kevin Hensley and New Castle County April 16, 2020:

One quick note, I would like to send a file tonight showing the condition of Shannon BLVD in the Grande of Shannon Cove subdivision.  The reason for this email, I am stressing the reason this road requires paving and/or improved pothole placement.  The holes are massive and the amount of loose stone is super dangerous to vehicle windows and cyclists.  In conclusion, the street Shannon BLVD is a mycadmium that has failed in its entirety.  The street is marked for partial removal, marked for over a year and replacement of sections has not happened yet. This road exposure is over 10 years of age without a topcoat.  I write, today, concerning the road will get paved over hiding the failure.  Then, the topcoat fails in the next year or so.  Please stress DelDOT and/or D.R. Horton to fix and/or repair this road in the most expeditious schedule possible.

The petition is created to assist residents of the Grande of Shannon Cove to have safe roads to travel to and from their homes.
