Term limit for the US congressional members

Term limit for the US congressional members
For too long we have had United States Congressional incumbents in power for far too long. That needs to end. It has led to complacency, government overreach into people personal lives, divisive politics, and an inability to make meaningful progress. I ask you that you consider signing this petition and sharing it with your state legislatures to start a national convention of the state legislatures to add Congressional term limits to the United States Constitution as the 28th amendment.
If Americans want to see progress and change, we need to end the ability for career politicians to hold control and power over the legislature. The president has term limits, why not Congress. The average tenure is near 10 years for Congressional members.
Mitch McConnell has been in Congress since 1984, Nancy Pelosi has been in Congress since 1987. 25% of current Representatives have been in office for more than 12 years. 32% of Senators have been in office for 12 years. The current longest serving senator, Vermont democrat Patrick J Leahy, has been in Congress since 1975.
Congress needs a revamp. We need new, younger voices and the population is currently at a median age of 38.4 years old. Career politicians are stifling progress to the detriment of this country. So join me in the fight to encourage progress.
