As a Victorian nurse are you happy with the action/inaction of the ANMF?
As Victorian nurses we have been pushed to our limits. We are overworked, undervalued and underpaid. Our EBA’s seem to be swept under the carpet. We accept far less because it’s ingrained in us to be ‘happy with what we get’ in a female dominated profession.
This petition is a call to action of the ANMF to demand better pay. Rather than purchasing pubs with our hard earned income. We want them to know that they are not the only union offering professional indemnity insurance. We can and will seek alternatives. The ambulance union fought for a 28% pay rise for their members when initially offered $1 an hour, they won. What did we get… 8% over 8 years. Leaving us some of the lowest paid in Australia.
Covid has thrown so much at us without ever giving us back anything. It’s taken over 18 months to even release a statement regarding PPE allowance. This should be in place by now. Nurses and unskilled workers in quarantine facilities are paid up to 36% more then nurses working in ED/ICU or with specialist post graduate qualifications. Our graduate nurses are taking home around $50 more than someone on job keeper.
Please sign this to show that we are serious and without action to increase our pay we will be forced to withdraw from the ANMF.
