Stand with K-pop band NewJeans: Hold Ador Accountable for Harassment

Stand with K-pop band NewJeans: Hold Ador Accountable for Harassment
The Issue
NewJeans broke records, inspired millions, and redefined what a global girl group could be. But behind the scenes, they were fighting a painful battle for dignity.
In 2024, all five members of NewJeans tried to leave their record label, Ador, citing mistreatment and harassment, especially after the ousting of their creative mentor and former CEO, Min Hee-jin. The group said their safety and wellbeing were no longer protected by the company meant to support them.
Though a court ultimately ruled that their contract with Ador remains legally valid, the message from NewJeans was clear: “We had to speak up to protect the values we believe in.”
Now, the group has been forced to return to Ador — but that doesn’t mean fans should stay silent.
We’re calling on Ador and its parent company, HYBE Corporation, to take immediate action:
- Publicly acknowledge and investigate the harassment claims made by the group
- Implement third-party artist safety protocols and mental health protections
- Allow NewJeans to work without retaliation, silencing, or coercion
- Ensure future artist contracts include meaningful protections and exit rights.
NewJeans is not just a band — they’re artists, young women, and workers with the right to speak up about unsafe or harmful conditions. The global K-pop industry cannot thrive if it punishes its own stars for demanding basic respect.
Fans across the world have NewJeans’ back. We stand for their safety. We stand for their voice. And we demand that Ador — and HYBE — be held accountable.
Add your name if you believe K-pop idols deserve protection, not punishment.
