Quality education for St. Clair students

The Issue

There are thousands of St. Clair college students paying full price for tuition only to receive one month less of education, and to practically teach themselves. Many programs at St. Clair have adapted to a 13 week delivery model which greatly increases stress, and time constraints on students just trying to learn. The 13 week delivery model does not allow enough time for students to prepare for exams, and this time constraint causes Professors to rush through lectures, thus leaving little to no time for questions, or elaboration. Additionally, some programs have labs in which students are only allotted one hour to get to these in person labs, all of which are not on the same day making it increasingly difficult and taxing to receive education. Furthermore, many students do not reside in Ontario, or within an hour drive to Windsor. Additionally, even those students living within Windsor who rely on its bus system know it will can often take more than an hour to get the campus. It is ludicrous to expect students to pay for living expenses for only a few hours of lab a week. Finally, not all Professors are required to record lectures; therefore, in the event of power outages, connectivity issues, or other technical errors that are bound to arise students are expected to again teach themselves. St Clair college your students, and patrons are asking you to do better! Please sign this petition in hopes of influencing St. Clair college to put their students first and provide us with the quality of education we pay for.

What we as students would like from you:

 - A full 15-week online semester OR one review week for exam preparation in which no new material can be tested on.

- More scheduling accommodation for in person labs

- All online lectures to be recorded and posted online for a minimum of 24 hours.
