Social Security Administration, Congress of the United States of America: Allow Disabled to Marry without Penalty

Social Security Administration, Congress of the United States of America: Allow Disabled to Marry without Penalty
The Issue
Social Security states that If he or she receives benefits as an adult disabled since childhood, the benefits generally end if he or she gets married. (DAC Benefit)
If you and your spouse are on SSI, and get married the benefit you receive will change from an individual rate to a couple rate.
The loss of this income, due to a marriage is incomprehensible.
This clearly contradicts the simple right of the pursuit of happiness, and a legal right most other citizens of the United States are afforded.
With a marriage, the loss of income may not only severely affect the disabled party, but the loss of health insurance is simply devastating.
Please afford the disabled the same right as other citizens have, getting married does not cause a disability to end.
