Hello!
I thought I'd post an update of the development with subtitles for On Demand. We have got some positive news!
Following Sky's big commitment on subtitles there has been a lot of work going on at Sky to make this happen. A number of existing Sky TV users have been helping out in trials on subtitles being added to on Demand content (content that has to be downloaded via the Internet). Whilst the insight of the trials are confidential, I can say it is looking good. A trial was in place so that ahead of the launch to the public, that there is no major issues or bugs and that the quality is excellent. Subtitles for On Demand will be rolled out in a new Sky Box firmware over the next few months. However it is only for Sky+HD box customers with or without the HD subscription will receive the new firmware.
It is unsure whether Sky Q is included in the new firmware rollout, but I will find out more on this.
Sky is sticking to their commitment for On Demand accessibility and also for their Sky Go and NowTV which will see subtitles hopefully next year.
Please do lookout for more updates on our Facebook page at Facebook.com/SkyOnDemandSubtitles/
Many Thanks, Jamie
