The Community has been informed that as of February 2021, the Simcoe County District School Board will be transitioning to a Hybrid Learning model for all students. 

This Petition is to STOP the proposed Hybrid Learning Model.

Everyone will be disadvantaged, but remote learners will be impacted the most. Teachers are expected to deliver two different learning formats, remote and in-person, simultaneously.  Considering this new curriculum demand for classroom teachers, the results will be very damaging for all students!

×      Ineffective management of student needs in real-time

×      Inability to solve technical issues

×      Unrealistic to expect teachers to differentiate between learning formats

×      Inability to effectively deliver the current curriculum

Between in-class and remote distractions, accommodations, and technical issues, learning time will be reduced.  All students in the hybrid model will suffer as a result of this modified education structure.

Remote students will carry the weight of the hybrid learning model burden.  Technical issues, poor learning environment, communication challenges, and social limitations will further impact these students. 

Our kids have adapted to learn in either in-person or remote settings.  Together we can make a difference by ensuring equality, accessibility, and inclusivity for each student regardless of their learning format.  Please consider signing this petition to stop the proposed hybrid learning model and ensure in-person and remote learning models are available for our children.
