The Issue

Hey everyone! Today, there's an urgent need for action in Utah. We have a chance to protect our beautiful forests and wildlands from being destroyed. The proposed repeal of the 2001 U.S. Forest Service Roadless Area Conservation Rule threatens to open up an astounding 45 million acres of public lands to activities like road building, logging, mining, and development. This change would have devastating effects on our environment—think about the loss of clean water, the decrease in carbon storage, and the destruction of the scenic vistas we cherish.

Here in Utah, we know the importance of preserving our wilderness. It's not just about keeping the landscapes intact; it's about ensuring the long-term health of our environment. Unfortunately, Senator Mike Lee, who talks about preserving wild Utah, is a significant proponent of this harmful repeal. His actions do not align with his words, and it’s time to hold him accountable. We cannot allow our wild lands, which provide recreation opportunities and natural beauty, to be ruined for short-term gain.

This proposal doesn't just affect the trees and the wildlife. It affects everyone who enjoys and benefits from these natural spaces. Remember, wildlands aren't just pretty backdrops for our photos; they play a critical role in our ecosystem’s balance. We must stand together to protect what we love. The Roadless Rule has been a crucial part of conservation for over two decades, safeguarding our public lands.

Join me in fighting this potential disaster. Let’s make our voices heard loud and clear. We need to ensure that decisions made today will not destroy the potential of tomorrow. By maintaining these protections, we safeguard clean air and water for future generations, preserve diverse ecosystems, and maintain spaces for outdoor activities.

Please sign this petition to tell our Utah senators and decision-makers that we won't stand for this repeal. Protect our wild lands, protect our home.
