Today the Premier of New South Wales, Mike Baird spoke at the National Press Club in Canberra. Chris Uhlmann from the ABC asked Premier Baird about the Adler seven-shot firearm. And his answer was disappointing. While Premier Baird said he was opposed to watering down gun laws in any way - He stopped short of committing NSW to imposing tighter restrictions on the Adler seven-shot. This is despite a Sunday Telegraph report on the weekend that NSW Police have provided formal advice to the Premier and his government. The story by Samantha Maiden said NSW Police had “urged cabinet to embrace a D classification”. All states and territories must agree to re-classify the Adler from Category A (the lowest classification) to Category D (the highest). And they’re set to meet in Canberra next Friday with the Prime Minister. Please help us convince the NSW Premier and his Cabinet to heed the advice of NSW Police and agree to tighter restrictions on the Adler seven-shot. Send Premier Mike Baird a message on Twitter @mikebairdMP or send him an email manly@parliament.nsw.gov.au And don’t forget to share our petition to help us reach 60,000 signatures by next Friday, when we’ll take our message direct to Canberra.
