The issue

We call on the Australian Government to immediately close the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Australia due to serious concerns about national security, foreign interference, and community safety.

In August 2025, the Iranian ambassador was declared persona non grata and removed from Australia following serious security concerns. The  (IRGC) has also been designated as a terrorist organisation.
Despite this, the embassy continues to operate.

Key Issues of Concern:

Ideological Recruitment of Adults and Children
The embassy is reportedly promoting programs such as “Jan Fada,” encouraging individuals in Australia—including children aged 12 and above—to register for ideological and defence-related roles aligned with the Islamic regime. This raises serious concerns about indoctrination and foreign influence.

Concerns About Links to the IRGC
Given the IRGC’s terrorist designation, there are credible concerns about potential links or alignment between the embassy’s activities and IRGC-associated networks. Any such connection would be incompatible with Australia’s national security and must be fully investigated.

Intimidation of Iranian-Australians
Many Iranian-Australians have raised concerns about surveillance, harassment, and intimidation, particularly those who oppose the regime. These actions create fear and silence within the community.

Promotion of Regime Ideology in Public Spaces
There have been reported instances of demonstrations and gatherings in Australia where individuals have displayed images of Ali Khamenei and expressed support for the ideology of the Islamic regime. These incidents have caused concern and distress within sections of the Australian community and highlight the risk of growing influence of extremist narratives.

Suspicious Financial Activities
Requests for donations linked to the  through international bank accounts raise transparency and compliance concerns that require investigation.
