Send Deportees Home with Their Last PayCheck: PayCheck Act Now
The Issue
This petition is an offshoot of the one I created earlier but had to close it because it had technical problems.
The United Stated States Labor/Employment Laws do not allow discrimination including discrimination based on national origin.
When worker deportees are arrested and have to leave the US, the story about their wages ends at the point of arrest. Because they work without legal permission to work in the US, for many of them demanding their last paycheck is the last thing on their minds. Slavery has long been abolished in the US. Everyone who works legal or illegal gets paid for work done.
The purpose of this petition is to compel employers to pay deportees for work deportees did but had to leave the US without their last paycheck.
The US Equal Protections Clause explains that all men are created equal. Hence the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Laws in alignement with the same principle state the following:
- Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin;
Clearly US Federal Law prohibits discrimination at jobsites and therefore prohibits discrimination against "illegals" working in the US.
Demand that worker deportees receive a fair wage before they go home or have an online system to log into to retrieve their wages after they arrive at their destination. It is only fair.
