Senate restrict Iraq funds some
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!
House, previously, in approving new funds for the Iraq occupation, added the wise
provision that ”....None of the funds in this Act may be used by the U.S. government to enter into a basing rights agreement between the United States and Iraq.” It's very important that the Senate uphold this requirement, so that the White House must act with restraint and in closer cooperation with Congress. It should ideally go even further, making it clear that US policy doesn't involve longterm US involvement in Iraq. I hope the Senate will join with the House to tell the White House that all future funds will require assurance that the US role in Iraq is temporary and withdrawal will happen.
