For years the Worksafe Insurance Agents have used the most abbhorent inhumane practices including paying off supposed Independent Medical Examiners to give them favourable outcomes.  This is only the icing on the cake. 

Many Worksafe victims suffer serious mental health issues because of direct mistreatment by the insurance companies. Many have suicided after losing every thing. They don't even follow their own guidelines of making a decision in 28 days.  I had to fight for showering assistance for 12 months.

Currently I have been waiting 6 months for shopping assistance to be approved.  Instead they are trying to have me removed from the system. My injuries are permanent  You are a criminal in their eyes, your serious injuries, which the court has decreed as such,  no matter how permanent, are irrelevant. 

You are monitored day and night.  I have a two inch file thick of surveillance reports on me gained under Freefom Of Information Act. What the government's don't tell you is Worksafe Insurance Agents are paid huge bonuses for every case removed from the system,  despite the needs of the affected worker.  They then utilise so called independant medical examiners that they have experience will favour the insurer not the worker and nothing is approved unless these doctors say so. 

The last one I saw recommended removal from the system, removal from all treatment and services.  He actually didn't even diagnose the correct leg! He said the incorrect leg was affected,  even though I had a custom leg AFO for my left that doesn't fit the other leg. Wasn't hard to spot wearing it. 

Then there is manipulation of weekly payments and refunds on receipts  supplied.  Mark my words, every time money is due to you,  they will find ways to delay. The policy states 10 business days and can take months longer. 

Then the rest will involve interference with treatment or medications with no warning. My medications were not paid for which meant I had withdrawals as I cannot afford full cost of medications on an income well under the poverty line of $740 gross per week and still not eligible for a concession card.

I had a very distressing meltdown due to withdrawals  as my medications include morphine stimulants and opoids and antidepressants. Funnily enough once they heard my hysterical state over the phone,   the medications were approved immediately.

Ridiculously they had set up new account with a Chemist but some pen pusher in Payments decided to deny claim due to history of my paying my own at concession price, which I was no longer eligible for. 

Everyone who is on workcover will have similar stories to tell.  It's already led to people losing their homes, families and suicides on a regular  basis.

There needs to be a Royal Commission as the Victorian Ombudsman, Deborah Glass recommended 72 changes in her report in 2016 and to my knowledge I have experienced no changes in the behaviour and practices of the agents or adherence to their own policy and procedures.

 

There is no consequences for these misdeeds and they are not prosecuted for infringements on the workers civil rights and supply of necessary medical aids and services. 

 

For those that believe  people on Workcover  choose to be,  No-one would choose this. It's not living it's existing! 97% are genuine cases,  3% are found to be fraudulent in some way. The problem is 100% are treated as fraudsters. 

Imagine spending every moment spare trying to prove yourself over  and over again. It's exhausting and emotionally crippling. It takes over your thought,  creating paranoia,  just in case you get someone ready to falsely accuse you. 

Please Ministers. Give us a Royal Commission like Mental Health and Disability were given.  We are our own group with separate issues to the other two areas that involves separate over riding bodies Insurance Companies and Goverment. For once look after the suffering Worksafe Victims
