Schools say they want to help students for the future. But what future are they giving us by making us sit down at desks for six hours listening to them lecture about things we'll never retain?
My name's Aeris, I've been a student for about 8 years of my life, and I can't accept that it's taken me 8 years to realise the school system is outdated and will never benefit me in the future.
People in school right now are the people that will shape the future, and teachers have the most significant job in the world. To help us get there.
But if the school system was made when people were expected to work in factories, why hasn't it changed? Why is school now about passing and not learning? Why is there so much stress and pressure put on us? Why do schools believe that in life, you only need logic and a bunch of algebra?
I used to put myself in a toxic mindset where I thought I had to be smart to get anywhere, and I would get jealous when other people achieved things because I thought they'd get a successful future, and not me.
But now I realise that if I focus on the things I like, I'LL get a successful future.
But school doesn't allow that. In school, we have to learn things that we'll forget after we finish the test, and we pack our brains with this worthless information.
I know most people that are reading this have jobs or are adults. But even so, you need to help the younger generation get somewhere in life, or as a society, we're going to get nowhere. And it'll benefit you. As we grow, you grow. We're now in charge to take care of the world and if you want us to do it properly, why don't you help us?

I also know that not many people will sign this. But if I, a student, can realise that if something doesn't change quickly, most of us are going to be unemployed, and possibly homeless because of this, why can't you? Or the teachers? Or the school system?
