Over three months ago, Cottesloe Council dumped piles of building sand in the John Black Dune Park adding to its degradation, and presumably to justify its destruction for a skate park. It is using this natural habitat as a depot, with no respect for the vegetation and flora and fauna.
Where is Cottesloe Coastcare when we need them?
It is not too late to lobby Cottesloe Coastcare to save this reserve!
Ken Macintyre's reasons for signing this petition are well worth repeating:
'...the Cottesloe Council has the insanity to build a concrete slab on one of Cott's last remaining dunes which provides habitat to a variety of plants, birds, animals & insects. Where are the Council's environmental policies & principles that allow a skate park to be seen as more valuable than a naturescape. Find another location.'
