Ken Macintyre and Dr Barb Dobson have been involved in the field of anthropology for over forty years. They have been students, lecturers in anthropology at Curtin University and the University of Western Australia. They live in Cottesloe and value the coastal dunes and vegetation and support Saving the John Black Dune Park from Destruction. Ken Macintyre's reasons for signing this petition are powerful:
'With a heating world and an ever-diminishing natural environment, the Cottesloe Council has the insanity to build a concrete slab on one of Cott's last remaining dunes which provides habitat to a variety of plants, birds, animals & insects. Where are the Council's environmental policies & principles that allow a skate park to be seen as more valuable than a naturescape. Find another location.'
