We the undersigned believe that this Vicarage Field Shopping Centre which has actually been here within a prominent location in Barking since 1990 should be primarily conserved as a retail and commercial space for various social and economic reasons.

This shopping centre contains the only remaining Post Office left within Barking town centre and has numerous active commercial units including a B&M as well as various other independent shops including well established businesses which have been here for a number of years too.

The local area cannot afford to lose more facilities for any potential residential development that does not guarantee an improvement to Barking where our local health, public transport, educational and environmental infrastructure is under enough pressure in many respects already.
