Save the Philly Public Health Resource Hubs
Save the Philly Public Health Resource Hubs
The Issue
As part of its long-term response to the Covid 19 pandemic, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health opened resource hubs where residents could access needed supplies free of charge. For years, these sites have supplied Philadelphians with rapid Covid tests, masks, and hand sanitizer, as well as other important materials including Narcan, fentanyl test strips, and STI tests.
Now, with federal funding for pandemic related programs expiring, these vital centers are set to close in June. We ask the City of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health to find internal means to keep the Resourse Hubs open so that they can continue to provide essential supplies that Philadelphians need to stay healthy.
