Katherine Gilmore Richardson is a political figure and elected official serving as an At-Large member of the Philadelphia City Council. She is a Democrat and made history in 2024 by becoming the youngest person and first At-Large member to serve as Majority Leader. Richardson was first elected in 2019, becoming the youngest Black woman on the council. She holds degrees from West Chester University and previously worked as a staff member for Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown. Richardson focuses on workforce development, public safety, environmental justice, and supporting local businesses. She has passed legislation enhancing transparency and accountability in city government and created Philadelphia's first Apprenticeship Guidebook.
