We at The Bull's Head, a historic 17th-century pub in Wootton Wawen, Warwickshire, urgently need your support to save Eddie-Bull, our beloved traditionally hand-painted mural. Our landlord, Martin Peel, commissioned this stunning, tasteful mural of a handsome Hereford bull’s head, which beautifully captures our pub’s heritage and has become a beloved icon within our community.
Since its creation, the mural has attracted numerous visitors, breathing further life into what has been a failing & dilapidating establishment for many years. It stands as a vibrant representation of our pub, our village’s heritage & character. It’s presence has been wholeheartedly embraced by both locals and tourists alike.
However, Stratford District Council has demanded the mural’s removal, citing planning regulations for listed buildings. We understand the importance of preserving historical sites & accept our innocent oversight, we firmly believe that this artwork enhances our pub’s historic charm rather than detracting from it. The mural was created with care and respect for the building’s heritage, by a local artist & traditional signwriter, Phil Taylor, and its removal would be both a saddening & significant loss.
We’re appealing to the council to reconsider their decision and allow the mural to remain. 
Like any heritage pub, The Bull’s Head relies on trade for its prosperity & supports our continued efforts to help restore this beautiful, traditional Warwickshire building.
