The Victorian section of the FOLCA building (Debenhams) in Folkestone is to be demolished by the council and turned into a Health Centre. We demand the building is left as part of Folkestone`s heritage and future and deserves a more ambitious usage than council offices and a health centre. Architectural beauty and heritage is a core part of any towns regeneration, this building should be an ambitious focal point for the regeneration of the town centre and should provide leisure facilities for the people of Folkestone, not a cosy new home for the council and a health centre that adds nothing to the town.
