The Issue

This is a deeply personal and profoundly significant to me, having had the honour of participating in the parade after attending the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) a few year ago.

This parade is more than just an annual event; it is a heartfelt tribute to those who bravely fought and sacrificed for our freedom.

Camberley, with its rich military history, serves as the gatehouse to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the prestigious institution known globally for its officer training. The connection between Camberley and the military community is profound and undeniable. Cancelling the Remembrance Day Parade here not only disregards this unique bond but also undermines the opportunity to honour our fallen and reflect on their sacrifices.

For decades, the parade has been a vital tradition that brings us together to pay our respects. It educates the younger generations about the values and history embedded within our community. The parade stands as a powerful reminder of our past, and it reaffirms our commitment to never forget those who have fought for the freedoms we enjoy today.

Maintaining this tradition is crucial, especially in a place so intertwined with military heritage.

Let's ensure that Camberley continues to hold the Remembrance Day Parade, preserving the integrity of our history and honouring our heroes. Please, join me in calling on the local council and community leaders to save this cherished event.

Stand with us, honour them, and sign this petition to keep the Camberley Remembrance Day Parade alive.
