It has created over 200 jobs, fed the hungry with its charity kitchens, and empowered young girls with donations of sanitary essentials. The pending closure stems from a High Court judgment ordering it to cease operations, citing its location on municipal land. While we respect this ruling, we plead with the Ekurhuleni Municipality to recognise the profound positive impact Slotjhile has had on our community and explore alternative solutions to keep it open.

Slotjhile's closure would not only dismantle a community cornerstone but also strip away livelihoods and support systems from hundreds of individuals and families. The founders have acknowledged their oversight and have been actively seeking solutions to rectify the situation.
