SAVE SINGLETON'S PARKS

SAVE SINGLETON'S PARKS

The issue

Singleton residents are concerned about the potential rezoning of public parkland and green spaces for housing development.

Parks are essential community assets that provide recreation, support mental and physical wellbeing, protect local green space, and help maintain the character and liveability of Singleton. Once these spaces are developed, they are lost permanently.

While housing growth is important, it should not come at the expense of public land that belongs to the community. Alternative development opportunities should be prioritised before any consideration is given to rezoning parks or reserves.

This petition calls on Singleton Council to protect existing public parkland from residential development and ensure full community consultation on any future proposals.
