The Issue

In July 2025 University bus or Uno announced that service 601 would be withdrawn appon this news being announced I contacted both Uno and Herts Intalink regarding this and response I have received from both companies is infactual and full of Disrepency from Brexit to not carrying enough to there are alternative etc

Route 601 currently runs every 30 mins between St Albans & Welwyn Garden City & every hour St Alban's to Borehamwood saw serving through the centre of Hatfield Business Park and fast link to/from Stanborough and Welwyn garden city approximate journey time being around 8/10 mins Vs 45 - 50 on the 653 or arrivas 301/302, 724/725 utilising a fleet of 6 double decker buses along the AlbanWay the service is very reliable

On Saturday the service is a crucial link to St Albans Market from Borehamwood and Radlett and is heavily used on Saturday

The company claim that only 7 Students use this service is incorrect and false, it is noted that service loading at low as of right now due to Summer Holiday however during Daytime/Term time most buses are full and standing along the core Section St Albans - Welwyn Garden City

The alternative that Intalink and Uno have listed have their own issues

653 Welwyn Garden City - New Greens is a Migration of 3 routes full end to end service is 2 hours

724/725 Heathrow Airport - Harlow/Stevenage these also encounter issues coming from London Heathrow Airport

Uno did note that the 602 is being upped to every 15 mins and while this may seem good this is a long route from Watford through Aldenham, Battlers Green & Radlett before it reaches at Albans the 602 is also limited to single decker buses and is very busy as of right now

Both companies fail to see the importance of this service and the council are unwilling to help so this is my last port of call

Thank you for reading, I'll maybe see you on route 601!
