Save Ross-on-Wye Men’s Shed

The Issue

The Ross-on-Wye Men’s Shed has recently been asked by Herefordshire Council to pay £12,000 per annum for their council owned premises. The Men have made a counter-offer - the amount they can afford. If they don’t succeed, they will need to vacate the Shed by the 29th of April, 2022. We can’t let this happen...

The Shed was created to ease the loneliness and boredom of retired men. The men meet at The Shed and work on various projects - their own as well as community ones. So many people sit at home after retirement and face a life of loneliness, which can affect their mental well-being and health.

The local community have helped enormously with their encouragement and donations and the men have thoroughly enjoyed interacting and working with local people, groups and the whole community as a whole.

The Shed encourages many men to pop along - regardless of their ability. Some men pop down for a cup of tea, a biscuit and a chat. They like that too.

Some of the men have had very successful careers and want to give something back.

We must save the Ross-on-Wye Men’s Shed.

Thank you.
