Riverston Nursery and Pre-School has been a cornerstone of our community for many years, providing exceptional early years education, care and emotional support to countless children and families.

The recent announcement that the school is consulting on the potential closure of the nursery has left many families deeply concerned.

This nursery is far more than a childcare setting. It is where children build confidence, make lifelong friendships and receive the nurturing support they need to thrive before starting school. The dedicated staff create a safe, caring and inclusive environment where every child is known, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

For many families, the support extends beyond the classroom. During times of personal hardship, the staff have shown incredible compassion and understanding, helping children navigate difficult experiences and providing reassurance to parents when it was needed most.

Many families, including mine, have trusted Riverston Nursery for generations. My family has attended the nursery for the past 18 years, my daughter currently attends, and my five-month-old daughter is already enrolled to begin in October because of the confidence we have in the outstanding care and education provided.

We urge the Governors and Leadership Team to carefully consider the lasting impact this decision would have on current and future families.
