Save Public Transportation in North Texas Cities

Save Public Transportation in North Texas Cities
The Issue
In 2026, voters in Plano, Irving, Farmers Branch, and Highland Park may be asked whether to leave DART, the public transit system that helps people across North Texas get to work, school, and vital services. If the cities vote to leave, all bus and rail service could stop almost immediately.
This would hurt people who rely on transit the most—working families, young people, seniors, and people with disabilities. For many, DART is their only way to get to a job or a doctor. Losing service would cut them off from opportunity and isolate entire parts of our community.
City leaders say they want more control over transit spending and have raised concerns about fairness. Those concerns matter, but cutting off public transportation is not the answer. We can fix problems without leaving the system. There are better ways to improve service, negotiate funding, and make sure every city gets what it needs.
The Dallas-Fort Worth area is growing fast. More people means more traffic, more need for affordable transportation, and more demand for clean, reliable options. Now is the time to invest in transit—not walk away from it.
We urge city leaders in Plano, Irving, Farmers Branch, and Highland Park to stay in DART and work for change from within. Keep the buses running. Keep the trains moving. Keep people connected.
Sign this petition to protect public transit for everyone in North Texas.
