Save our cherished community farm from eviction

Save our cherished community farm from eviction
The issue
The Sheep Farm at the End of Rathcown Road, Reservoir
Please DO NOT DONATE ANY MONEY, just your support is appreciated.
For as long as I can remember, the farm has been the heart and soul of our community. It's where my children learned to care for animals and appreciate nature's beauty. It's more than just a farm with sheep, lambs, cows, ducks, and a goat; it's a sanctuary. The family managing this farm, provide an invaluable service that has been fundamental to our community for over 70 years.
Unfortunately, our council is planning to evict this cherished establishment. This farm is not just a home for these animals; it is a place of healing. Here, children and adults alike find solace, learning about empathy, compassion, and the delicate balance of our environment.
Evicting the farm would not only displace the animals but rob our community of an essential resource. The bond shared between the farm and our community runs deep and has fostered a connection with nature that benefits everyone involved.
Approximately 1 in 4 children in urban settings suffer from a lack of connection with nature, according to studies. Our community farm combats this by offering a natural refuge where families can rejuvenate, strengthen familial bonds, and relearn the art of peaceful coexistence with our environment.
Given the mental health benefits associated with interacting with animals and nature, it would be detrimental to dissolve this source of joy and education. We urge the local council to reconsider their decision and work towards a solution that supports both the needs of the community and the wellbeing of the animals.
Preserving this farm is a simple yet profound step towards maintaining a space where young minds can flourish and a sense of responsibility towards our natural world can be nurtured. Join us in our quest to save this beloved farm. Your signature could make all the difference. Please sign the petition now to show your support.
