Save our bins in Batley

The Issue

We the below disagree with the idea recently suggested by Kirklees council to reduce our wheelie bin sizes from the current 240ltr to 180ltr.  This idea will impact on our families and is a step too far.

This comes just a month after closing the Nab Lane tip in Birstall, which most people in Batley use.

We are concerned about the potential  increase in fly tipping that could result as families struggle to manage.

Imagine what it will be like for families in Batley at Christmas when we have our families together. There is always more waste and our bin will be three quarters the current size. It being Christmas, the waste rounds might be affected or delayed so we might already be struggling.

This could will mean increase tip use in Dewsbury, but also an increase in travel and the environmental coat that comes with. For those without access to a car what does the council suggest , take it on the bus?
