Christ Church is in the process of REZONING their current recreational field on Livingston Road for a developer to purchase and construct a 100-unit Townhome community.  This land is currently zoned as RLD-60.  Christ Church is attempting to change the Land Use Regulations to Medium Density Residential / Planned Unit Development. It has been said it was not financially in their best interest to put single family homes on that property with its current Land Use and Zoning.  It is our understanding this is to fund new fields at their new school location.

These changes will greatly increase traffic! This community will add 200+ additional vehicles during morning/afternoon rush hour traveling on Livingston Road and at the intersection of Old St. Augustine Road & Livingston Road, as well as all surrounding areas and roads.  All of which are already overburdened with new developments and the 3 schools at Livingston Rd. and Old St. Augustine Rd.  Adding to that, the watershed / storm water / flooding issue, and the dangerous “S” curve on Livingston Road.  This will impact to our Police, Fire, already overcrowded Schools, as well as possible rise in crime.

Please join our fight to preserve the character that’s still left in Mandarin. We need to be heard by the County Commissioners & Planning and Zoning Board. Ask them to keep their commitment of maintaining the current culture of the community and its resident vs. greed of a few.

This development is incompatible with the surrounding neighborhoods now, and in the future.
