Thank you for the 1000 signatures! We never thought this would go that far. Thank you for those of you who went above and beyond in sharing this with your own communities. For those of you who haven't recently been to the tree, we've attached a heartwarming message from one of our community members at the tree. (Image redacted for privacy since we do not know the artist personally - if you are the artist/artist's parent and want us to post it un-redacted, please reach out.)
For now, no news is good news - we just have to continue making sure that our voices are heard and considered, so that when BC Hydro goes back to the drawing board with the City of Richmond, all our voices are considered as part of this decision that will affect our community forever.
As a reminder from our previous post, here are some ways you can help!
- We all have our own communities and connections. Every voice can help.
- Contact decision makers. Even if you get a form response, it's being counted, somewhere:
- Mayor & Councillor's Office: mayorandcouncillors@richmond.ca - even though they have paused BC Hydro's work for now, it helps to show appreciation for getting this done :)
- BC Hydro's CEO, Charlotte Mitha: charlotte.mitha@bchydro.com
- BC Hydro's Community Relations Manager, Lower Mainland, Sabrina Locicero: sabrina.locicero@bchydro.com (604) 623-3517
- Hon. Adrian Dix, Minister of Energy and Climate Solutions: ECS.Minister@gov.bc.ca (778) 698-7671
- Hon. Kelly Greene, our local MLA Kelly.Greene.MLA@leg.bc.ca (604) 241-8452
- Premier David Eby premier@gov.bc.ca (250) 387-1715
Thanks again! Hope you all have a great week.
