This is the sign outside the popular Drury Bakery as of June 2024.  Signatures climbed to 13,977 as of October 2024, combining both online supporters and handwritten signatures by multiple upset shoppers at the Drury Lane Shopping Centre.  Waka Kotahi, NZ Transport, did not alert the community to the loss of their shops in any of the meetings held at Drury Hall!  Why not you may ask!

How many people have visited the 200-year-old Historic Drury Wishing Well amazingly located inside the Award-winning Drury Meats Butcher shop?

Painstakingly built brick by brick the Well is 30 ft deep (9.1440m)!  The Well serviced and survived the old Drury Hotel burning down in the 1800's! There are photos to view which are above the Well inside the Butcher shop.  Will this 200-year-old water supply survive once more, or be demolished alongside the demolition of the popular shops we presently all enjoy!

Who knows when we might need such a Well!

You can never get back the Community spirit inspired within a small local shopping centre such as Drury Lane Shops!!  The welcoming smiles and the opportunity for locals to enjoy a random coffee catchup together at the Drury Cafe, is hard to find!

If you have the time and the inclination, please contact your local MP or Councillor to Help Save Our Shops!  So far, the opinion of 13,997 people seems to count for nothing!

If anyone has News media contacts, please tell them about Drury Shops! And hope for some help!  So far very little publicity has been able to be obtained.
