To be quite clear! This is NOT about stopping this upgrade project.
This is about a minor alteration to the 400m of road which will save upwards of $10million $$$$$ for the government while still supporting the proposed train station and future rail upgrades. For the Drury Community it will stop the unnecessary sacrifice of their shopping centre in this absolutely prime location in the heart of Drury. The Drury Lane Shops!
Continual communication with Waka Kotahi/NZTA-AT for the past six months advising them of the growing number of 11,178 Drury Shoppers against the demolition of the Drury Lane Shops has fallen on deaf ears!
Multiple emails appealing for help have been sent to: -
Judith Collins MP for Papakura. No response.
Andy Baker, Auckland Councillor for the Franklin Ward. Replied. No result.
Angela Dalton, Auckland Councillor for the Manurewa-Papakura Ward. No result.

Dean Kimpton CEO Waka Kotahi Transport NZ. 28/6/223 In his maiden speech, Sounded the alarm on AT costs but did not follow through regarding saving $$$$$$ did reply by forwarding us on to WKNZTA-AT.
David Parker Labour Minister of Transport. No response.

We continue to appeal to Simeon Brown as Minister of Transport, because we have been informed that the Minister of Transport is the only one with the power to change this short 400m of road from the North side to the South side. Saving 12 shops and Saving millions of taxpayers $$$$$$$$$. The South side would suffer far less impact. It includes government owned wasteland and only 1 or 2 shops in a less prime location.
It is a simple act of widening the existing straight Waihoehoe road, instead of building a 400m piece of road curving over the top of the Drury Lane Shops then curving back onto Waihoehoe road!
Although I represent 11,178 people in correspondence it would be a lot more powerful if more actual people emailed Simeon Brown direct. Thankyou.
