Save CPB funding

The Issue

Hi everyone, I'm 11 and, like many kids, I've grown up watching shows that have shaped my childhood. I come from a low-income family, and shows on platforms like PBS have been my go-to, especially my favorite, "Cyberchase." These shows are more than just entertainment—they've been a constant source of education and joy when other options weren't financially feasible. Icons like "Sesame Street," "Wild Kratts," and "Lyla in the Loop" have been a part of my daily life.

But right now, we're facing a real problem. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) might lose its funding, meaning these beloved programs could vanish. This isn't just about me. I'm speaking up for all the kids out there who rely on these shows to learn, laugh, and grow. And it breaks my heart to think that shows like "Molly of Denali," which represent Native American stories, might disappear too.

It feels like the grown-ups and leaders in positions of power, including past administrations, have let us down. Leaders need to rethink any decisions to cut funding that affect millions of children and families. and "Cyberchase" Danger!

Public broadcasting offers invaluable educational content that every child, regardless of their family's income, should have access to. Cutting CPB's funding is like taking away crucial educational resources that many of us depend on.

Reversing any funding cuts to the CPB will ensure that future generations can benefit from these essential educational programs just as we have. Your childhood might have had different shows, but you know how impactful and nurturing good content can be.

I implore everyone, let's make sure every child has the classic benefits of learning from fun and educational TV shows. Our leaders need to know how vital this funding is. Please sign this petition to ensure the sustainability of programs that support our futures!
